Kopano draws its name from the Tswana language of Southern Africa, reflecting the belief that the best work happens when people, ideas and craft come together.

Founder and director Kyle Connelly grew up in South Africa, beginning his apprenticeship on a mine deep in the Tswana region, where he worked alongside local tradesmen and developed the foundations of his fabrication skills.

After moving to Australia in 2011, he spent more than a decade building and running a large signage and event fabrication company, refining his craft and working across commercial, hospitality and event projects.

Kopano is the result of that journey. A leap forward. A new studio focused on thoughtful design, precision fabrication, and the collaboration of materials, trades and designs that turns the first flicker of an idea into exceptional objects.
